Funding
Voice AI company Deepgram is buying Daily, which maintains the open-source Pipecat voice-agent framework, and says Pipecat stays open source.
Why it matters. Consolidation in voice-agent infrastructure; Pipecat users keep an open-source path.
Funding
Cohere announced an initial close of a Series E led by Schwarz Group, with the Government of Canada taking a staged stake of up to CAD $1.6B.

Source for Cohere announces Series E targeting CAD $7B; Canada invests up to CAD $1.6B
Models
Google announced Gemini 4 Carbon, its strongest model for cybersecurity and long tasks, at first only for selected cyber defenders, priced like Argon ($2 / $10).
Why it matters. Not broadly available yet; worth watching for security and long-running agent work.
Funding
Insurance software maker Guidewire agreed to buy London-based AI underwriting platform hyperexponential for $1.7B cash plus up to $400M in earn-outs.
Why it matters. A large deal for vertical 'agentic' software in insurance.
Automation
n8n 3.0 beta brings safer defaults, queue-mode and scheduler changes, removes legacy nodes, and makes self-hosting Docker-only; there is a Migration Report and no rollback.
Why it matters. Self-hosters must plan a migration; 1.x support ends 31 Dec 2026 and 2.x gets 12 months of fixes.
Automation
Vercel rebuilt context management and prompt caching so Agent sessions in the dashboard and Slack cost 67% less on average, with no action needed.
Why it matters. Cheaper AI debugging and ops on Vercel-hosted sites; billing is model rates plus $0.25 per million tokens.
Models
GPT-6.1 Terra is a fast, cheaper model for computer use, writing and coding at $1 / $5 per million input/output tokens ($0.05 cached), available in ChatGPT Work, Codex and the API as gpt-6.1-terra.
Why it matters. OpenAI claims about 9x lower cost per task than Claude Opus 5.5 at max effort on its benchmark, which makes high-volume automation cheaper.
Agents
Zendesk launched agents plus admin-built Advanced Action Flows that complete IT/HR requests like access approvals and onboarding end to end; early access now, GA in coming weeks.
Why it matters. Moves helpdesk AI from answering questions to finishing policy-bound tasks.
Automation

Agents
Anthropic gave the Agent Skills standard (SKILL.md folders), its name, GitHub org and agentskills.io domain to the Linux Foundation's AAIF; it says 70+ platforms support it and ~1M skills are published.
Why it matters. Skills become a vendor-neutral format, so skills written once are more likely to work across Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot and others.

Agents
Oracle unveiled a no/low-code studio with MCP support to build, test and manage industry-specific agents; availability is planned within the next 12 months.
Why it matters. Large ERP vendors are standardising on MCP and prebuilt vertical agents, which sets buyer expectations.

Funding
OpenAI bought Orchestra Bio, a drug-development coordination platform, to combine it with its Rosalind life-sciences models and tools.
Why it matters. Shows frontier labs buying vertical workflow software to sell agents into specific industries.
Agents
Cursor's Agent SDK lets teams define agents in code (Markdown prompts, TypeScript tools, evals, event replay) and deploy with one command to Cursor or their own infrastructure as a single Node process.
Why it matters. The framework behind Bugbot is now available for custom PR-review, compliance and incident agents, with evals built in.
Automation
Notion Agents now get their own computer and browser and can run up to 24 hours; a new Auto model router claims Opus 5.5-like results at ~90% lower cost; Notion MCP was overhauled with memory sync live.
Why it matters. Notion becomes a cheaper shared 'brain' that outside agents can read and write via MCP; a new credit system changes how AI usage is billed.
Source for Notion rebuilds Agents: own computer/browser, 24h tasks, Auto router, BYOK, better MCP

Agents
Claude Platform agents, the Messages API and Anthropic SDKs can now send standard OTel traces (model calls, tool use, MCP calls, tokens, latency) to tools like Langfuse, Datadog, Grafana or Sentry; public beta.
Why it matters. Teams can audit and debug agents in their existing observability stack before widening their access.
Source for Anthropic adds OpenTelemetry tracing to Claude Managed Agents and the Messages API
